Color Trends...

Keeping an eye on what colors are hot for the 2011 Wedding Season .... look no further! A combination that continues to pop up is black and lime. These 2 colors with some grey and white ... you have a striking combination. Here is an example of this combination displayed on a new menu design I just finished. Modern, Classy and Fresh!

What sets a wedding apart....

There are those weddings that you attend and remember it for years to come. What is it about those weddings that sets them apart from other ones? I can confidently say that if I walked into a reception with a table that looks like this ... I'd never forget it!

Your creative space

There's something interesting about what it takes to get in a "creative" mood. This past weekend I wandered into my all-time favorite store ... Target. One of the perks of not having to go back to school and sit in a classroom is still being able to take advantage of some of the fabulous sales and goodies for the "college dorm room" that Target puts out. Today I found this simple lamp. After plugging it in, putting a new light bulb in and turning it on, I suddenly felt all the more creative. A lamp ... a new candle and Steve Tyrell. Bingo ... the creative ambiance is here. I wonder what things spark other people's creative moods .....

Design...Redesign

I find that even those invitations that have been listed and selling on my etsy store seem to be "refreshed" simply with new photos. I had a special request for a custom sample for this signature side pocketfold. The color compliment each other so well and this green is a perfect choice paired with bright colors for summer and rich colors for fall ... it's an all-around winner!

This unique magnetic enclosures seals the deal! Your guests will be blown away at every little perfected detail. Visit www.littleladybugpress.etsy.com to view more photos!

Prioritize!

I'm quickly figuring out how important it is to prioritize! With my invitation business being career #2 at the moment, I have to set my priorities as to what I'd like to set my focus on.

This post has been delayed for quite a while...but here's a little catchup from the last crazy busy months.

A beauty shown to the left! A custom color choice on the popular Itinerary invitation. A beautiful tropical twist for a Hawaiian wedding!

I've gotten even more custom requests on the itinerary invitation that I can hardly keep up! This, again, is a custom look at a bride who customized this for her wedding program. How cute is that?! Sometimes the invitation gets so much attention and "fuss" that the program is overlooked and just an afterthought. I think the cool thing about working with your actual designer is that they can create additional custom pieces for you. If you tried to do this with a large company you'd pay an arm and a leg and probably 9 times out of 10 they would tell you that what they have available is in their books or
on their website. Take advantage and create custom pieces for your wedding! Your guests will notice all the effort you put forth and when ordering invitations as well, you can be assured you'll get a great price on additional matching pieces. I've been pleasantly surprised that my brides have come back to me to design their programs, table numbers, placecards, etc. It's fun to be able to see such a complete picture of what the day will be like.

Compiling more updates for tomorrow!!

Custom Colors!!

Sometimes it's difficult to see and choose an invitation that is not your colors and be able to visualize what your colors would look like ... Here are a few brides who chose my "Kate" invitation and made it their own ... and the results are gorgeous!

What a Find!

Another great find at THEKNOT.COM. Can a white wedding be any better?!

These candy displays, in my opinion, are the cutest things. Not only do they provide sweet treats for your guests, but also create an ambiance and natural decor! BEAUTIFUL. Again, these little cards with ribbon are all easy things for us designers to send with your invitations...so DON'T FORGET those accessory things you need to the big day!

We're happy to help and love to see what the end result is!!

What are the odds....

I am completely amazed these past few weeks at the interest in one of my invitations ... The Kate Invitation. This invitation was created for my sister-in-law, Kate, and ever since I posted it, the requests have been flooding in. I currently have 5 orders, different weddings, for this invitation. But, what you will be amazed at is how different the combinations are, the colors, the papers and ribbon. I am excited to post all the covers after they are complete so you can see how versatile each invitation can be!
But ... on to THEKNOT.COM. Have you explored this website ... I mean, REALLY explored it. You will be amazed at the creative minds behind this site. I am currently checking out the hottest color combos for elegant weddings .... and here are my findings. They also show other combos for modern weddings and fun, out door weddings. AWESOME.

That's it ladies .... beautiful combinations for beautiful weddings! ....now back to that creative thing I like to do....

Rock, Paper, Scissors....GO!

Have you ever had a dream, but you couldn't put your finger on what you really wanted, until you found a HUGE piece of inspiration?

I have to give a HUGE note of thanks to a little store in Franklin, TN called ROCK,PAPER, SCISSORS. This boutique is out of this world adorable. Sometimes being creative gets tiring and you get frustrated when you don't feel like you're coming up with good, new material. This is when these gems are priceless. So, to pass on this inspiration to whoever may need it ... check out their website and blog. If you're a paper fanatic...I promise, you will NOT be disappointed!!

New Year, New Color picking!

So, unlike last year, a goal for this year is to keep this blog alive with photos, updates and a lot more creative inspiration!

COLOR CHOICE: One of the things I've found is that many people, like me, are very visual when it comes to picking their invitation colors. Most brides will start with what they want their overall wedding to look like, picking flowers, bridesmaid's dresses, accents and accessories for their special day and then match an invitation with that color and feel.

MY SUGGESTION: Don't count out an invitation just b/c your colors are not shown. This month I have had 5 brides show interest in this invitation (The Kate Invitation) - Each bride has had a different color scheme, a different theme and a different look. I have had the pleasure of transforming this invitation to fit each one of their weddings.

ETSY: One of the cool things about Etsy is that you are usually contacting the ACTUAL DESIGNER. The person who chose and designed the invitation and has the ability to customize the colors and design JUST FOR YOU!

Think about it ... YOU HAVE THE DESIGNER AT YOUR FINGERTIPS....use us!!!

Check out Etsy for literally ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE. ...and have fun!
